Privacy notice

How we handle your email address and usage data. Last updated: 3 October 2026.

Who is responsible

Relict is responsible for your data. Contact muata@relict.dev.

Playtest emails

We use your email address to send development updates, playtest invitations and release news. We also record the submission's IP address, browser information and time to document consent and protect the form from abuse.

You subscribe by submitting the form and confirming your email. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter.

We keep your address until you unsubscribe, and retain the records needed to document consent and prevent further mail after you leave. Unconfirmed sign-ups are removed after 30 days.

Our email provider processes your address to deliver messages and report delivery problems. We do not sell the mailing list.

Usage analytics

We collect page visits, clicks, successful actions, browser and device information, and approximate location to improve the website and launcher. IP addresses are used to estimate location and distinguish sessions, but are not stored in the analytics database.

Analytics uses no tracking cookies. To see how pages are used and where they fail, we record clicks and scrolling (heatmaps), page loading times and, for some visits, a recording of the page as you use it. Every form field is masked in recordings, so typed text, email addresses and passwords are never captured. We do not send email addresses, form contents, passwords or login tokens to analytics.

If you open the website from a signed-in launcher, a pseudonymous ID links your website and launcher activity. The website keeps this link for the current tab, even after you log out of the launcher. Forget the profile below or close the tab to remove the link.

The game account site (play.relict.dev) uses the same analytics. When you are signed in there, the same pseudonymous ID links your activity on this website, in the launcher and on the account site, so we can see how many visitors go on to create an account. The account site has its own opt-out on its privacy page, because browsers keep this setting per site.

You can disable website analytics below and launcher analytics in Settings. We respect Do Not Track. Disabling analytics or forgetting the profile does not delete past records; contact us to request deletion.

Your rights

You can request access, correction, deletion or restricted processing of your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Write to muata@relict.dev; we respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

We update the date above when this notice changes. We announce significant mailing-list changes by email.

Analytics preferences

Do Not Track takes priority over this setting.

Opening the website from a signed-in launcher links it again.
